When stopped, the raw eggkeeps spinning because of the liquid inside. We read and learned about many oviparous,or egg laying, animals this week. We alsomade egg people...we decorated real eggshellsas people and planted grass seed at the topof their heads like hair! We also madestained glass eggs using tissue paper and pa-per plates! Reading & Language Arts We read Eggnapped this week and discussedthe many characters in the story. We con-tinue to focus on number words one throughfive. We used egg cartons to practice our sight words. We also worked on “telling” sen- tences. We are truly becoming sentence ex-perts in our ability to identify the naming andaction part of sentences. We also are sogood at noticing if there is a capital and aperiod. This week they watched a lamb pup-pet (Mr. Lamb...srcinal, eh?) do silly thingsand then they had to give me complete sen-tences that told what he was doing. We fo-cused on the /g/ sound at the beginning andend of words. Math We practiced counting by 10’s and used dimes to purchase items from our housekeeping area. We continue to count by 5’s and noware working on counting by 2’s. 2’s seem hard, but when we remember to skip a num-ber, we do really well. We also practicedordinal position, first through fifth, thisweek.
