GD 1 : Children have access to technology at a very young age today . It’s like they are born with a wireless mouse in their hands. But is it a good thing ?How do adults brought up in a pencil/paper age keep up ?    The need is to limit and supervise the usage not restrict it as that would restrict the child’s development.    It’s true indeed that today’s children are very well equipped to various gadgets.      Having access to technology is not bad .We can take the example of E-learning like Educompsmart class solutions which uses visual effects to teach helping children to grasp easily.    We need to move with the times. But at the same time instances like requirement of a cellphone at a very young age or PlayStation is not justified since it only kills time and has no realuse.    Everything is available at the press of the button and there is very little social activity whichleads to diseases like obesity (30 million Indians are overweight acc to NFHS  – National FamilyHealth Survey).Gd2Corporal Punishment-the old saying spare the rod spoil the child .Is it right ?    Delhi High Court had passed the judgment for no punishment in schools about a decade back.     The problem lies with the teachers rooted to the archaic ideology refuse to spare the rod fordisciplinary action.     In 2009 Shanno Khutam died because he was made to stand for hours under the sun.     Parents don’t complain because they feel the child’s future maybe jeopardized.      Teachers on the other hand feel helpless as developing a close relationship with the students is always not possible + corporal punishment banned means you can’t raise your hand nor can you scold .     What is required is a collaborative approach between the teachers and the parents in such asituation as the upbringing of a child is a collaborative effort. Gd3Overcharging foreigners for visiting monuments/museums is wrong ! Do you agree ?    It is not a practice that is confined only with the Indians .All around the world such thingshappen.eg A visit to the colloseum costs around 16 euros while for a localite it is about 11euros.Similarly you can take the casse of macho pichu in peru or petra in Jordan etc.      For a developing country like India where the majority of population has a earning less than adollar per day it is unfair to charge exorbitant amounts to see our national heritage sites whichbelongs to us. Plus the people coming from foreign countries are assumed to have a strongercurrency.     We pay the taxes and a part of it is taken by the ASI for maintenance purposes. Plus thisincreases the awareness for our own heritage sites.     Another school of thought is it’s a kind of racism as a person maybe not looking like an indian or not speaking like an Indian is charged more.
