Measure of  professional conduct.  Framework for ethical judgment.  Public avowal of engineers’commitment to behave inways not harmful to society, or bring shame to societyand rest of profession.  Indicates to society concern of members to actresponsibly.  Collective recognition of responsibilities of  profession.  88 Why? –Functions, what does it achieve, do? Boils down to why we need rules in society? So whydo computer engineers need rules?
